Sunday marks the 60th anniversary of the finest pitched game in Major League Baseball history. The Giants beat the Braves 1-0 on a Willie Mays home run in the bottom of the 16th inning.

Both starting pitchers, Warren Spahn and Juan Marichal, pitched complete games.

On Saturday afternoon, May 1, 1920, Leon Cadore of the Brooklyn Dodgers and Joe Oeschger of the Boston Braves each pitched 26 innings. This being before lights at the ballpark, the game was called for darkness and ended in a 1-1 tie.
