Most likely, no.

A DNR is usually triggered only when "extraordinary efforts" must be used, AND the prognosis of a recovery is very low.

A DNR isn't "oh gosh, you're choking, but since you have a DNR I can't give you the Heimlich..."

Is it though, because that isn't necessarily my experience. For example, I had a relative they said needed to be intubated, but then they suggested, she should just be let to died. They never did intubate, but she lives on her own today 6.5 years later. But they wanted to DNR her then.
