Or tank crews aren’t obliterated when they take a direct hit. The human body is mostly made of water which means it’s mostly incompressible, which means it isn’t affected as much as one might expect in events involving sudden extreme pressure changes. They were killed instantly but they weren’t turned into pink goo.
