MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Coast Guard to hold press briefing for Titan submersible response conclusion, Marine Board of Investigation

WHO: Rear Adm. John Mauger, the First Coast Guard District commander, Capt. Jason Neubauer, chief investigator, U.S. Coast Guard.

WHAT: The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a press briefing to the conclusion of search and rescue aspects of the response, and information to how the marine board of investigation will be conducted.

WHEN: Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

WHERE: Coast Guard Base Boston at 427 Commercial St., Boston, MA 02109

Editor’s note: Media should be prepared to show media credentials and a government issued photo ID to gain access to the base. Base access will be allowed starting at 3:30 p.m.

BOSTON — The Coast Guard is scheduled to host a press briefing Sunday to discuss to the conclusion of search and rescue aspects of the response, and information to how the marine board of investigation will be conducted.

Who cares? Stupid people did stupid experimental stuff and it imploded in a place people can’t easily go.

Why should the Coast Guard get any blame?

Probably to tell the families first. Have to contact them. Investigation is just in early stages at this point.

They knew within an hour or two at most it was over. They didn’t have the feed the narrative of a search with hearing noises every 30 minutes from sound sensors.
