I think we all agree that the "green energy transition" is really a political movement. There's very little natural human/economic impetus towards it. Thus, as many of you point out, its not efficient, it will contain a lot of elements of corruption, and in the end, it must be forced by government.

Throughout history, inefficient economic political schemes are pushed through some combination of the law+end of a gun, and money+allocating scarce resources.

Its my contention that "green energy" has only achieved any traction due to MASSIVE government spending, massive debt, enabled by historically low, zero/negative interest rates, in printed, fiat money. This is possible because of the global primacy of the West, power of the (woke) US Government and especially, primacy of Wall Street, the Federal Reserve and the US Dollar.

Any US dollar crisis, any move of BRICS to establish their own monetary system, any political fracturing, any weakening of trans-Atlantic alliances, sustained inflation, higher long-term interest rates, and any debt crisis - are all assymetrically very dangerous for anything connected to "the green energy transition."

In sum - its eventually going to fail, and fail bigly.

I restate your last paragraphs as you wrote them. Kudos for a very concise explanation of the "house of cards" which the whole "green" game has been and remains, teetering.

When all these schemes require influx of government funding to go along, it is assured that the collapse will be Solyndra-like and write large across the West. All schemes which require the constant input of "more funding" are not profitable in the long term, and so this is a Ponzi scheme with many operating in many venues.
