All of us have known at least one type like this Rush guy, a salesman/confidence artist who blows off any concerns with a “Yeah, yeah, everything‘s gonna be FINE. Why are you listening to the naysayers? Relax, trust me.“

This all is sounding more and more like a bad episode of the Twilight Zone. The Devil waving tickets in your face. A trip to another dimension.

Said the creature to a woman in a garden millenia ago. What could possibly have gone wrong?

Doomed Titanic sub CEO tried to sell cut-price tickets saying it was ‘safer than crossing the street’ Now that's ironic, considering that most pedestrians cross the street with willful ignorance and a blind trust of both government & drivers.

This story will never end as long as it is useful to keep attention away from other more consequential news.

As a former professional submariner, I have to ask why anyone thought this would go right with all the things that could go wrong.

Always trust your initial instincts when assessing danger. Don’t waiver and don’t let anyone talk you out of it.

There hasn’t even been an injury in 35 years in a non-military sub,” Rush wrote.
Wow classic and egregious logical fallacy, Equivocation Fallacy.
Just because other subs had no accident does not mean his was the same, they are all pretty much unique at this level of exploration. That alone was a big enough warning sign to have dismissed Rush out of hand. Honestly was foolish to accept Rush's premise.
One really did not have to be a genius to see the snake oil he was selling in that statement.

If there are no huge lawsuits then this event never really happened.
