Stop drinking the MSM kool-aid on what California is like
“Stop drinking the MSM kool-aid on what California is like”
LOL.
I going off things I’ve heard California escapees say on YouTube.
If you like it there, I’m happy for you. It’s a beautiful place. I lived there once.
I understand your frustration, but I live in a state that is even bluer than California, and I completely understand why people in other states might have a view of the state that is less than complimentary.
Some of it is not based on first-hand information, but conservatives rightly look at my state, and see the likes of Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey, Gerry Studds, John Kerry, and so on, with no counterbalancing conservative sanity worth mentioning.
California, with the elected offices being filled by people like Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsome, Dianne Feinstein, and the list goes on has the same effect on people who don’t live there.
And it isn’t like red states such as Texas and Florida don’t have Leftist whack-jobs in office, they surely do.
But the truth is, California is hemorrhaging citizens and businesses, and encouraging illegals to squat and crap all over everything while passing insane legislation at the same time, so it isn’t as if people look negatively at states such as yours and mine with no reason at all to reach their conclusions.
We live in those places, so we know there are redeeming things there that they don’t see.
But people aren’t making it up out of whole cloth. They have rational reasons to view our blue states as cultural cesspools, at least to them.
My heart goes out to other conservatives who live “behind enemy lines”, but that is our lot in life. The political systems in your state and mine are fixed, rigged, and unscaleable. We aren’t likely to change them.
I see you are new here, you are going to have to toughen up and accept the criticism if you want to spend any time here. I know some people make comments about California falling into the ocean and Massachusetts being given away to Canada, and it is often done by people who may have never even set foot in your state or mine.
But that is reality. And their perceptions are not wholly unfounded.
