I understand that lithium ion battery fires are difficult to suppress, and further, that they occur more often than we’d like in e-bikes. My question is, “How come we don’t hear about them every day on laptop computers?”

I leave mine plugged in and charging 24/7, and I suspect most people, millions of them, do likewise.

My guess is that laptop computers are designed and built to a higher standard than E-bikes.

There’s a ton of Chinese knock offs of higher end e-bikes. E-bike fires are very common in China.

My understanding of these battery fires is they are caused when using an after-market or different charger for the battery than the one it came with.
