Don’t let this new rule stop you. Just give them a fake phone number and a fake address. And if they demand ID, remind them of the Fourth Amendment: A person has the constitutional right to be secure in his papers. And that includes ID.
The 4A does not apply to private businesses. But I doubt if they know that.
