Not sure why it’s so hard to leave politics and this insanity out of the work place.

I remember when sports was sports and I watched MLB, NBA and the NFL and all I saw was some great competition. I remember walking into stores and bought stuff I needed and the only signs were things on sale. I was in the military and it was a brotherhood, I went to work and didn’t deal with all the BS, we worked hard and played harder, there were male/ female bathrooms and there weren’t any HR departments, then Tailhook happened, sensitivity training, HR complaints and having fun became outlawed and shxt went downhill fast.

Thankfully I’m retired.

Most of the problems we see in America today are the results of programs, regulations, and $$$ coming from Washington. As Washington has moved further and further leftward, they use the carrot and stick to force America to follow their path. The executive suite at the large institutional investors who control huge blocks of these corporations’ stock are on board with what Washington wants as well (the threat of SEC action is the stick).

“having fun became outlawed”

That’s huge for me. I can remember when going to work was something I looked forward to. Everyone was happy and productive when we worked incredibly hard, and it was mixed with social interaction.

Then it seemed like almost overnight everything flipped. No joking around, no after-work get-togethers, certainly no flirting. The thought of going to work was dreadful. We didn’t work as hard, and counted down the hours left in every day.

We had political differences, but no animosity. Discussions and jokes were the thing.

HR went from being effective and professional to being airy-fairy flakes and thought police.

I’m glad for the good years, pre-PC to an insane level.
