How about a short synopsis or “headline-equivalent” of a JOS post in the main thread, with a link to a more detail discussion in Festival?

That way, those interested can click the link and not be deprived of the information if they want it, and those of us who, when we see JOS’s name in the main thread, can continue scrolling, thereby saving some repetitive strain on our scrolling fingers.
