They thought his campaign would be doomed by an indictment. I really don’t think they planned much further ahead than that.
If they were really that skilled at this, it would have been over for Trump one of the first six or seven times they tried to kneecap him, and they wouldn’t still be trying 8 years later.

This delusion that Trump’s most hardcore supporters have that they haven’t not only kneecapped him, but utterly conquered him, and are now tea-bagging the entirety of America in their completely unrestrained vanquishing amazes me. Yeah, they cheated. But they got away with it, didn’t they?
