Looks like he’s really at home in the outdoors and able to live and stay there for quite a while. His gear has a sturdy, heavily used look that indicates he knows what he does in the outdoors. Maybe quite a while until he gets caught.
Those aren’t very good hiking boots, and the sandals won’t be much help either.
Is it really worth it for a domestic violence charge? And he gets no statute of limitations, since he’s already charged.

“…caught.” …or FOUND. The pending charge doesn’t seem like it would be nearly serious enough to go on the lam. More likely something has happened to him delaying/preventing his return. IMHO, of course.
And those muck boots he’s wearing are likely meant for temporary use on only a portion of the trail that may be particularly waterlogged. I notice he has other foot ware in his kit,
The boot get me. I wear those in the yard so I don’t spray lawn chemicals on my feet.
