It wasn’t that long ago that sports fans on this very site used to argue forcefully that big time sports was a meritocracy and that owners and managers only cared about playing the best; that politics and personal beliefs didn’t matter.
No one discriminated against a certain quarterback because of his religious views. That just doesn’t happen in the NFL!
I still get a chuckle.
