What is “deadnaming” ? After a trans person changes their name to their "new" identity, their old birth name is "dead" to them and they insist others not use it. I just recently learned this myself.

What is “deadnaming” ? It means that you are recognized by the name on your birth certificate, so if the name is William on the birth certificate and it goes by Wilhelmenia, William is the "deadname".
Quite ghoulish, IMO.
