Spent many hours in the 60’s and 70’s listening to KRLA myself. I was a great radio station. There were a lot of good stations back in the day in Southern California.
Because the stations ran ads between songs, I would switch between KRLA and KFWB. Then in the spring of ‘65, KHJ adopted a Top 40 format. Promising “more music,” they would play long sets with one song after another, which won me over. Boss Radio 93 KHJ was my station of choice until I switched over to KWIZ, which broadcast Oldies across SoCal from the Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana.
