Yeah, “homophobia” is a ridiculous term. Greek homo (”the same”) + phobia (”the same”).
Fear of the same? Who amongst us is truly afraid of members of the same sex? Very, very few people, I’d imagine. One in a million, kinda thing, I’d guess.
So, “homophobia” is in fact divorced from its etymology and functions purely as an accusation against anyone who expresses disapproval of homosexual acts or the people who engage thereof.
It’s all a scam along the lines of “heads I win, tails you lose.”
If you approve of homosexuality, then you’re an ally. Great. They win.
If you disapprove of homosexuality, it’s because you’re afraid them and probably secretly homosexual yourself. Great. They win again.
Perhaps a better term would be “homoaversion.”
