Yes, I do know what you mean, but the phrase is only used by people who are NOT following the science. They are instead following the politics. Another common phrase is “settled science.” Nothing in real science is ever settled if someone comes up with a different theory and it is provable. Settled means they want you to do whatever it is they want you to do. One more phrase is “nobody wants to,” because whatever they say next is exactly what they want to do. Examples are, “nobody wants to seize your guns,” and “nobody wants to take away someone’s right to serve or not serve a customer.”
