I imagine that restaurants have contracts. When they can, they will change the contracts. When large chains decide to cut off AB InBev entirely (e.g. Pizza Hut restaurants, Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Outback, Texas Roadhouse, etc.) the losses will be permanent. Because AB InBev and Miller-Coors are practically a duopoly in the U.S., there’s not even a way to have a merger or buyout to try to press reset.
I worked at Pizza Hut in 1982, when we replaced Miller Lite with Bud Light and it pretty much stayed there ever since. Forty-one years was a nice run.
Pizza Hut does not even do dine in anymore. Just pick up or delivery. I used to love eating there too.
Are there any sit-down Pizza Huts left? I used to like their lunch buffet. Can’t find anything but carry-out stores any more.
