Whistleblowers do not trust AARO or NASA or any other government agency (with good reason), but are going directly to the classified briefings of the Congressional committees with their stories. As you may remember, the NDAA included a provision to release and/or indemnify anyone bound by NDA's when their accounts were given in classified briefings to Congress.
And people are coming out of the woodwork with their stories.

I waver day to day as to whether I think Congress is really going to track down the crash retrieval artifacts or whether they will decide to bury their heads in the sand.
I am sure they are ticked off that they are told “you have no need to know” but they also may run away in fear since (as Chucky says) “you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you”.
