Good point about the soap. I shave in the shower after washing as the hot water softens my beard. I just soap up my beard again and shave.

Also, blades will last considerably longer if you dry them after use.

I leave my face wet after getting out of the shower and put on barbasol and use a Harry’s triple blade razor. When done I go over face again with a Panasonic wet/dry electric razor and rinse and dry my wet razor with wife’s hair dryer. Throw on aftershave and I’m done.

I have a German made straight razor circa 1920’s that I had professionally sharpened but haven’t had the nerve to try it yet.

I just dab it with a towel then blow on it real hard sometimes using the hair dryer. If any water comes out repeat I’ve had a blade last as long as 6 months. But I don’t have a sandpaper beard
