Wokeness is just The Critical Theory of Marxism applied to the current state of society.
As Tim Keller said, Woke ideology/theology is a cobbled-together, cheaply-fabricated substitute for God. People hope it will make their lives meaningful without actually having to establish a personal relationship with God.
