If the black teen had actually rented the bike and either this was a misunderstanding or the white woman was actually trying to steal it, I would have expected City Bike to have released his rental information. Has anyone heard anything other than crickets since the woman provided her receipt?

My understanding after reading one of the UK news sites is that an 18yo black teen from an entire family receiving public assistance from an unidentified 3rd world country was using these bicycles as his primary means of transportation.

They are free to those on welfare. However after 45 minutes there is a nominal per minute fee. So his MO is to ride for 45 minutes, park the bicycle (I won’t call it a bike), wait for the timer to reset and then ride it for free again.

This time though, the nurse, seeing an available bicycle purchased time for one. This just upset our resourceful teens’ plans.
