My wife’s 98 year old grandfather who was in the 82nd Airborne and jumped into Normandy on D-Day said that he was taught explosives handling by Harold Russell before leaving for England in 1943. He loves this movie.
Wow, that's amazing! God bless your wife's grandfather, and Harold Russell as well. My husband and I just watched 'The Best Years of Our Lives' for about the third time earlier tonight -- it was featured on Turner Classic Movies.
One of the absolute BEST films that ever came out of Hollywood. And Harold Russell deserved *both* Oscars he won for this awesome movie!
