That is the tactic folks in North country do who haven’t got ac- they go out to eat, or movie or grocery store to cool off.
I got stranded out in provo Utah once, and it was 107 while I was there most days. “ bUT it was a dry heat” lol. Still though, I had to walk a few miles to different places as I was arranging transportation home, and the tar was so hot it burned blisters on the soles of my feet. I dunno how folks live in such heat, but then again, they likely don’t know how we live in such humid climates lol.
In my late teens in SoCal, I'd head to the golf course on 110° days, and I'd have the course to myself. 'Twas wonderful!
