I can sympathize, as many of my local relatives are Democrats.
Here’s what I learned long ago. You cannot change a Hindu into a Buddhist. Or a liberal into a conservative. Or, etc. Any conversion must come from within. All you can do is make a single, gentle comment. If it is not well-received, let it go! The person is not ready.
And anyway, I spend time with my relatives because they’re nice people. They’re family. Any political discussion can only hurt (until they are ready to listen).

Me: Who do you think will win the World Series this year?
Is that surrendering? Nope. It’s picking your battles. Don’t go all-in unless your chances of winning are high. Otherwise, save your chips for another time.
In what way?
I would argue. Of course my family loves to argue and has no aversion to doing so.
