Ukrainian Army is being expanded by a new brigade, 44th Mechanized Brigade. The unit is currently at the stage of formation. As photos on social media suggest, it’s one of the Polish-trained Ukrainian brigades.The brigade received military number A4723 and at least one battalion is equipped with Polish-donated BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles.

Police officers have evacuated three orphaned children from the village of New-York in Donetsk Oblast; the children were hiding from daily shelling in a half-destroyed building.
The National Police of Ukraine said that Yana, 11, Denys, 9, and Ania, 7, were left in their family home on their own after their mother passed away from an illness several days ago; their father died several years back. Their house was badly damaged by a Russian shell.
“Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa – all our relatives are now in heaven,” Ania said.
The kids endured the loss of their closest relatives against the backdrop of large-scale Russian strikes and shelling.
Pavlo Diachenko, a police officer from the Bilyi Yanhol (White Angel) unit, said that the house where the three siblings lived was located very close to the frontline.
He added that several days ago law enforcement officers were caught in a Russian shelling when they were evacuating civilians from the area.
During Russian attacks, Yana, Denys and Ania would lie in bed and cover themselves with blankets. Denys explained that he and his sisters did not go to the basement because they could be trapped there by debris and rubble.
Ania and Denys said that the first shell crashed in their garden, creating a deep crater. Part of the building was destroyed in another Russian attack later on.
Police officers first made sure the siblings received a medical exam; now they are staying with their cousin’s family in Kyiv Oblast.
Meanwhile, Russia continues to attack the city of Kyiv. During the most recent missile strike, the first explosions occurred minutes after the air-raid warning was issued. A photographer captured a video, in which a group of children headed to a shelter after the air-raid warning was issued.
The video showed kids starting to run as they heard the explosions.

DETAILS: In the video released on Tuesday, the SOF operator says that his group was ordered to land on one of the Dnipro islands in Kherson Oblast, conducting a sweep and taking a combat position.

Half a day after the successful completion of the task, the SOF operators in the ambush heard the sound of the boat, made sure that it was the invaders, and opened fire to defeat it. The Russians fired a machine gun in return. Fortunately, the Ukrainian fighters were not injured.

Kadyrov threatens to take revenge for drone attack on Moscow

Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of Chechen Republic, has promised to take “revenge in the full sense of the word” for the recent drone strike on Moscow.

DETAILS: Although no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, Kadyrov has blamed the “Kyiv regime” for everything and called such actions “terrorism”.
He proposed introducing martial law in Russia and “to sweep away this entire terrorist cell together.”
Kadyrov also urged the Russian military not to pamper and not to stand on ceremony, but to strike “at the places of accumulation of terrorist leaders until nothing remains.”
He also threatened Western Europe, saying that Russia “will knock on the door of, for example, Germany or Poland.”

BACKGROUND:
According to various reports, 25 to 32 drones attacked Moscow on the night of 29-30 May, damaging at least two multi-storey residential buildings; most of the drones were reportedly shot down near the Russian capital.
Vyorstka, a Russian media outlet, mapped the locations of the drone attacks in Moscow, including the areas of drone strikes and the points where explosions were reported.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi proposed five principles to UN Security Council to help ensure nuclear safety at Zaporizhzhia NPP.

According to Grossi, he defined these principles on the basis of “intensive consultations” with the leadership of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
First and foremost, “there should be no attacks of any kind from or against the plant, in particular those aimed at the spent fuel storage facility,” he said.
The ZNPP infrastructure must not be used as a storage or base for heavy weapons, such as multiple launch rocket systems, artillery systems and ammunition, as well as tanks or military personnel that could be used for an attack.
The supply of electricity from the power plant outside the facility must not be jeopardized. To this end, every effort should be made to ensure that the external power supply remains available and secure at all times.
All structures, systems and components necessary for the safe operation of the facility must be protected from attack or sabotage.
No action should be taken that would undermine these principles.
Grossi emphasized that adherence to these principles is intended to prevent a nuclear accident and ensure the integrity of the plant. “I believe these commitments are necessary to avoid the threat of a catastrophic incident,” he added.

Yes. Absolutely, will keep them in prayer.
IIRC new Ukrainian units are built on a cadre of experienced soldiers besides trained recruits. That does not make the recruits less “green”, but it mitigates a lot of the early resulting issues.
Early on Ukraine fielded masses of untrained militia infantry brigades. They served their purpose, but they are in a better situation these days. Over a year of war and service has created hundreds of thousands of experienced soldiers.
As for your implications, this all is SOP in all wars ever.
There is an article in New Yorker magazine about Ukrainian soldiers in combat.
War is certainly hell on Earth.
