Jimmie Allen apologized to his wife Friday for an affair with his former manager.
The country music star calls it an affair. His former manager, however, is suing Allen for sexual harassment and assault.
Allen, 37, took to Twitter in April that he and his wife, 27-year-old Alexis Gale, were getting a divorce, while expecting their third child.
Last month, Allen shared an Instagram story saying, “We Gonna Be Alright,” with emojis of hands praying and a fist. His story also said, “This Too Shall Pass.”
In another Instagram story posted, the singer shared a picture of the pop duo For King & Country for their song “God Only Knows.”
Allen’s former manager, who has not been named, is accusing him of sexually harassing and assaulting her. Allen claims they were in a consensual sexual relationship, according to reports.
Here is Allen’s Friday statement:
“I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair,” he said. “I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all. I also want to apologize to my children being a poor of example of a man and a father. ...
“This business takes so much from you,” he wrote. “It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything that you’ve built. I’m ashamed that I wasn’t strong enough to withstand them. I will no longer be a victim of my weakness.
“I challenge everyone to seek help when they need it,” he added. “Don’t not be afraid of your weakness, surround yourself with people that WILL help you.”
According to TMZ, he also is selling his home in Brentwood, Tenn., for $2.5 million. He originally listed it last month for just under $3 million.
Yeah, in this case, it might have to do.

Yes, I succumbed but that was after 20+ years of marriage to a shrew who treated the marriage as a one sided partnership (hers). Lots of other issues that don’t deserve mention here. I would ask myself when I was younger why people would stray. Sadly, l found out why over the course of my 21 year marriage. Simply said, I was unhappy and the opportunity became a reality that I didn’t regret after it happened.
The Ex got her pound of flesh out me at the end but now I am in very committed relationship with my new wife of 11 years. If I have to work til I am 75, I don’t care. I am happy.
It is what it was.
