These airchecks have allowed me to discover so many of the great songs from the late 60s, and not just the “classic” rock songs from that era, I’d been listening to pretty much since my later teenage years.
I marvel at just how well crafted the songs were. Many of course featured The Wrecking Crew.
Well said.
As I stated in my original post, I was five when this aired. I’m grateful to my older sister for constantly listening to the radio and purchasing many records and 8-Tracks. Thanks to that exposure, I am familiar with songs and artists that I otherwise wouldn’t have known.
There was one song on this air check with which I wasn’t familiar. I could tell that the band was “Chicago”, but I didn’t know the song.
I am a fan of the Wrecking Crew and the Wall Of Sound production technique. “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” may be the best Pop song ever recorded.
