A number of supplements are proving effective in bettering health, mental and physical. No wonder that government (here as in Canada of late) work to suppress these. While too much of anything is bad, supplements with some caution and research are most helpful. So do my wife and I find.

D is the only effective medication for clinical depression.
Take D3 in the winter and get daily sunshine in the summer and colds and flu become only memories. Daily D straightens out many cases of manic depression. And it is good for bones. I just read a piece that says it prevents frailty(fragile bones)in the elderly.
