Be sure to keep some electrolytes, like a sports drink handy.

Easy Peasy Homemade Gatorade

Yield: 1 qt

1 C 100% Fruit Juice. I like to mix and match. For instance orange and tart cherry, or cherry and watermelon.
1/4 C lemon or lime juice
1/2 C pure cane sugar or honey
1/2 tsp good salt (not ever Morton’s)
Water

1. Gently dissolve the salt and sugar in some water on stovetop. It barely needs to get warm to get the sugar dissolving. When dissolved add some ice to the pot to cool it down.
2. Pour juices into your quart container and add the cooled salt/sugar solution.
3. Top of with water to complete the quart.

Pro tip: If you plan to do some serious sweating, and I mean the kind of sweating that will ruin your leather belt, add another 1/4 tsp salt and another 1/4 C of sugar.
