Bank: "Ok then. You're money is no good here."
NYC: "Oh, so the means you'll bend over and comply?"
Bank: "You misunderstand. You can take your money and shove it where the sun doesn't shine"
In my experience Capital One is a very good place to bank.
Exactly.
I’m not a big fan of Capital One since Arec Baldwin, but the bank should just shutter the city’s accounts and mail’em a check for their proceeds.
NYC deserves to be destroyed
How the hell do you “freeze” your OWN account?? Do words mean things any more?
NYC held hostage - day one.
NYC is rotten, may never recover. The residents deserve the rot.
Perhaps the bank should, in turn, freeze the assets the city has deposited in their bank. AND move their offices out of the city as much as possible.
Headline is a little misleading IMHO - it implies that the city has frozen people’s deposits in the Capital One bank, but they don’t have the authority to freeze anybody else’s assets. None whatsoever.
“...for not filing anti-discrimination plans with the city.”

Think of how many government jobs the grifters in NY have created in order to review, investigate, regulate, and monitor “anti-discrimination plans”. Every single person (and their family) who has one of these jobs is a Dem-voter for life. Increasingly, putting people on the public payroll is an easy way to create Dem. voters. What are the odds that the small-government folks can overcome this inertia in the long run? Not much.
The bank should comply and move the NYC account money into the personal account of Mayor Adams and publicly thank him for some action that went in the bank’s favor. Chipmunk Bragg and Letoilet James will be all over that....not.
Capital One is just joining the ranks of Wells Fargo, PNC, and IFB in not complying with the city’s demand to lend money to minority borrowers who do not qualify and are more likely to default.
