the way we used to vote until recently.

Yep things change over time and has since the beginning
of time as we know it.
White men dominated/ruled the roost in the USA early days.
Women were regulated to home duties & raising the children.
Africans were brought in by White Men to do the manual
labor of the daily grind. Grow the crops, tend the young,
cook, wash the clothes, etc. A civil war fought in mid 1800
hundreds to free the slaves and give them civil rights. Today
they are exercising those rights.
Life goes on/changes as time advances and the humans are
exploring outer space. It would be interesting to see what
develops in the next century or two but we will be in the
here/after whatever that includes.
No it wasn't. It was fought to establish the dominance of the corrupt industrial/government complex as controlling all economic activity in the United States.
We know it wasn't about slavery because prior to the war, both houses of Congress (controlled by Republicans) passed the Corwin amendment (Permanent slavery amendment) by a 75% margin and sent it to the states for ratification.
The US Government was handing permanent slavery to the US on a silver platter, so no, they didn't fight the war because of slavery, they fought it because the Southern states were taking that 200 million per year they were producing from trade with Europe out of the control of the Corporate/Government power block in the North.
We have been dealing with this bloated money grubbing Government/Industrial complex ever since.
