Just a suggestion if you’re inclined...check out Rita Ray, a young (White) Estonian (!) who sings R&B like she was born in Detroit in the 70’s. Especially “No Greater Love” and “Love Ain’t The Same”.
Hardly anyone could outperform the late great Kate Smith.
