Isn’t asking for reparations at all, especially coming up with an actual dollar figure, “putting a dollar sign on what has been done to black people?”

As a white American, I acknowledge slavery, Jim Crow, sundown towns, and other ways blacks have suffered in this country. Those were all repugnant and we have done much, often at a high cost of blood and treasure, to correct those evils. Now, when will blacks start acknowledging and taking responsibility for their own problems: an 85% illegitimacy rate, dismissing educational achievement and a work ethic as “acting white,” embracing a violent drug-fueled gutter culture that has vanquished true civilization in majority-black areas? They dug that hole themselves. They need to dig themselves out. All reparations will do is result in blacks with all of those same pathologies and $1.2 million in the bank.

I don't care.

The Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts were passed in the 1960s. "Affirmative Action" and "Equal Opportunigy", along with the very expensive "War on Poverty" were implemented shortly after.

What have negroes done with these things, paid for primarily by White People?

Sold drugs, done drugs, fornicated with no discipline, and murdered each other. To heck with 'em. End it all and make them fix their own problems (or not) at their own expense.

And Black People who don't partake in that foul and degraded culture know perfectly well I'm not talking about them.

There have been at least 15 generations since the end of slavery. Enough is enough. Lots of people and groups of people have suffered throughout history, throughout the world. It is tragic that humanity is often cruel to humanity, but it doesn’t change the fact that we all have to be responsible for ourselves in life.

Upwards of 650,000 died during the America Civil War (some say it’s as high as 750,000). At least 360,000 died on the Union side. How did that affect their families, and future generations? After how many generations does what happened to your ancestors cease to be an excuse for the fact that life, though an amazing and wonderful gift, can be difficult?
