They were this stupid by the time they got to college. The publik skools did this to them. College only makes it worse.
Besides the dangerous political overtones of this whole question of blurring the gender lines, I see this as an impossible dream that has been unleashed upon the younger generations by events that are being widely misinterpreted.
People see, for example, men and women competing in equally styled sports contests (not against each other) and assume an equality which does not actually exist. Different things would happen if the contests were allowed to take place. In general, there would be extreme disparity. In track and field this is already obvious since the athletes are asked to do the same tasks. But in team sports, we have not yet seen the debacle (and paradigm busting) of the elite men playing against the elite women athletes. I don’t think it would be close at all. Golf may be a partial exception, despite what is well known about differences in length. Elite men golfers playing elite women golfers on shorter but difficult courses might be a more even proposition.
In other non-athletic areas of life, male and female competition has been growing for decades and certain assumptions are being tested out there as well. It’s not so much a case of an absolute differential, as a difference in proportionality. There are exceptions to rules in politics and business, science and industry. It becomes more complex, but I think it is fair to say that life has not yet demonstrated a complete equality of the genders in all aspects of our complex social structures. Nor is this some “white” thing, it is probably more apparent in all other racial groups than in what’s left of a white social structure (which is not much).
So in some ways, this is turning into a case of an impossible dream, held by many of both genders, that in all things boys and girls, men and women, will be interchangeable and there will be just one gender, in the same tradition as the now abandoned ideal of one global race (something that wasn’t going to be a good vehicle for the progressive movement to attack a white dominated social structure).
The only answer to all this is realism. Equal rights do not imply equal abilities. The two concepts exist in isolation. Defining people to be equal does not make them equal in all ways. I am not Albert Einstein or Wolfgang Mozart, let alone the equal of a woman in any sense. Nor are any of them me.
At the end of this chaos comes the realization that we can only know who we are if we know who made us, God in heaven, and we have our hands full understanding who God in heaven is, so that must be our concern. This modern society is an abomination that must surely be a great disappointment to God in heaven. We may find out at any time just how great that disappointment is.
