Nope, just in the big cities, like here in Las Vegas. Locals will tell you that it was a lot cooler back in the 70s. It's local warming. More people are living in cities, hence globull warming is more and more popular despite recent data contradicting the narrative. I personally like food, which warm weather makes possible.
No, it actually was a little cooler in the 1970s. If you look at the line of Temps over the 1900s, you will see a big bump upwards in the 1930s, and a dip in the 1970s.
The dip caused people to speculate we were going to start cooling, or enter another ice age. Also, a lot of global warming charts start from the 1970s dip so GW looks worse.
