I have come to believe that most people reject God because he doesn't conform to THEIR will. He doesn't do what THEY want HIM to do.
"Why does God allow children to be abused?"
"Why did God allow me to get cancer?"
"How can God allow so much evil to exist in the world?"
He just doesn't measure up to their standards!
...but as God asked Job...
"Where were you when I created the universe?"

I have a friend that seems to think God is a vending machine—all she needs to do is live right and pray in place of dropping quarters, so, she is constantly sad and doubtful. It’s not the way to works.
