So just wondering.......I’m guessing most banana peels would be inside a plastic garbage bag, how would that methane escape into the atmosphere? I don’t think the plastic bag disolves too.

Actually, plastic bags are degradable.

Nonetheless, this is totally ridiculous. Any home gardener knows that if you don’t stir up your mulch bin occasionally to get oxygen down there you don’t get mulch. You get stratified dirt and garbage — that stinks.

Pointing to peels in dumps as indicative of how insidious methane release is to the environment is about as silly as believing any of the other crappola associated with global warming.
