Some of our most famous comedians were men in drag. Milton Berle and Flip Wilson.
Except they were making fun of women, not idolizing them.
Wait….should we ban it all, then? I mean, we’re always told that “blackface” is bad because they’re making fun of blacks (another thing I question).
Were they making fun of women, or were they just being silly, knowing how absurd they looked? Or maybe both, which is most likely.
