Actually US used Ukraine to undermine Russia’s security and Russia came to fix it. US had provoked this war but Russia just answered accordingly.
Contrary to your opinion, I think the US and Russia have been scratching each other’s backs for a long time.
1. Hillary selling uranium rights to Russia, an unheard of power exchange.
2. Obama allowing Russia to take over Crimea with only polite protestation.
3. The silence of Russia on anti-Trump witch hunts.
4. US decisions that have allowed Russia to get more cash for their oil.
5. US decisions encouraging a Russia/China alliance.
6. US blindness to Iranian nukes, Iran being a Russian ally.
That’s just for starters.
Ukraine then is a Boondoggle for both US and Russian military/industrial spending... Ukraine deaths be damned.
Ukraine is a US client state. Russia knows it and that is why the Russians won’t deal with puppet Zelensky.
