When you try your best, but you don’t succeed.
That could be the case for frustrated Coldplay (pic) fans in Malaysia, who are finding it hard to get hold of tickets for the rock band’s concert after they were all were snapped up within three hours on Wednesday.
Pre-sale tickets which were exclusive to CIMB cardholders on Tuesday were also sold out within hours.
The demand for tickets is so hot that one buyer on e-commerce marketplace Carousell in the country is offering to pay RM111,111 for the concert tickets.
The buyer is seeking tickets in Category 1, which originally cost RM1,288 each, and Category 2 (RM758 each). There was no mention of the number of tickets wanted, based on checks by The Straits Times.
With the hot demand, scalpers are having a field day, with one offering tickets as high as RM43,000 each on Carousell. The post later stated the ticket was “locked” at RM55,200, but it appears to have been deleted since.
The popular British band will be playing at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 22. It is Coldplay’s first concert in Malaysia during their Asia leg of the Music Of The Spheres World Tour.
Some stupid foreigners poor understanding of how to list US currency? Quick way to spot a non-American writer.
I wrote that so Freepers would know how much in dollars. What is your format?
As an editor, the correct format in the US for listing dollars is $ or US$ or USD. Any other format is not of US origin and and obvious tail of someone not from the US, not educated in the US, or American English is second language. But, then again, our education system is so fallen, too many foreign teachers, and all that we’re lossing American English, etc.
Cold Play...egads, that’s like Linkin’ Park garbage isn’t it?
Fortunately, Malaysia and Indonesia have a pretty good death metal scene, so there are some folks down there that know what’s real.
I’d love to see them in concert....
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just buy the CD?
Not sure I’d go if you paid me $17 grand.
I’ve been out of the music scene so long...I know I’ve heard of them but I can’t think of a single song they do.
“I’d love to see them in concert....”
I saw them in concert 13 years ago. One of the best shows I have seen and I have been to over 300 concerts.
He can offer any price he wants but that doesn’t mean he’ll get it. OTOH, there are plenty of fools and their money.
Somewhere on youtube there’s a loop of that song for several hours. It was always fun to play along with it on bass guitar.
Linkin Park? I don’t think they sound alike at all. Coldplay is Britpop or alternative pop. Isn’t Linkin Park Nu Metal?
Hate Coldplay, they ripped off and bastardized my jam, Computer Love. When I listen to it now, I hear them.
Yeah, because steal other people’s music.
They asked for and received permission to use it, and credited the songwriters, so I wouldn’t exactly say it was stealing.
Well, like I said, they kind of ruined one of my favorite songs of my youth, so, not a fan.
