I was in Portland for a trade show and stayed downtown. This was before the Saint Floyd mostly peaceful protests. It was disgusting. Cops just walked up and down the river park while junkies were shooting up and causing all kinds of trouble. Enjoy the suck Portland.
Can you imagine the quality of police officers they are going to have applying for such positions? What true law-abiding and Constitution-supporting LEO is going to apply to work in Portland? Any arrest, much less a death of a person being taken into custody, and they will immediately be thrown beneath the bus by the city leaders.

In related news, a 12th Oregon county is making a move to become part of Idaho, leaving only the Portland-Eugene corridor intact.
They need to contract with New Orleans for the supply of police officers. I think they might be crosstrained as hairdressers, because they know how to apply a hickory shampoo when they need to.
