Social media continues to be a strong value for young adults as a new survey reveals a majority of teenage TikTok users would give up the right to vote in order to keep access to the popular video-sharing app.
The Reboot Foundation found 59% of young adults with TikTok accounts said that if forced to choose between their social media or voting rights for one year, they would give up the latter.
Among teens, the rates of voluntary disenfranchisement were even higher: 64% of those aged 13 to 17 said they would give up their vote to keep social content flowing. […]
The findings come as former CEO and current Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy revealed plans to announce a constitutional amendment to raise the voting age from 18 to 25, unless a person serves the nation in the military or as a first responder or can pass the civics test immigrants take when becoming citizens. …

Without the draft there is no reason for the 18 yr old vote.
They don’t have to give up their right to vote. They can simply choose to not vote. Only idiot leftists would think like that, so it wouldn’t affect young conservative voters.
The communist party should send them all a recruitment flyer
It does. All that crap in the mail that colleges send once your kid takes the PSAT.
Good idea. They don’t know enough to vote without social media, and with it they know even less.
I’ll go a step farther - anyone under 30 who looks at or posts on TikTak should be prohibited from voting for five years.
Speaking as someone who does not utilize social media, I recall a survey where a vast majority of young people would not take their dream job if they could not be on social media during the workday!
I was astounded! I would liken it to being banned from making personal phone calls in my era, which many employers had. They wanted you to work while you were at work, which I thought was reasonable.
The education system ha utterly failed in creating independent civil minded citizens who understand the need to play a part in society.
On the other hand it has bene a stunning success in creating a servant class of mindless Elois.
Teens saw that in 2020 real votes were overwhelmed by fake votes when truckloads of votes were brought in under the cover of darkness all for the candidate who got few real votes.
They figure voting is a waste of time.
No surprise
Talk about a win-win. Now get females to do the same.
Thanks one hell of a lot, teachers’ unions!
Sounds like TikTok IS addictive
I’ll wonder if the downfall of most Republics was like this. The young lose sight of what losing their freedoms would be like.
How many exercise their right to vote? How many know who’s running, what their platforms are or even where the polls are located.
It doesn’t matter to them because they’re mainlining social media. Outside of social media, nothing matters.
Sort of reminds me of Esau selling his birthright—a right of considerable worth—for a bowl of lentil soup. This should further prove that teens’ brains are not yet fully developed and they are incapable of intelligently dealing with major decisions. That includes gender mutilations and voting. They’d trade a Chinese spy nonsense software for a right (to vote) that many good men and women died to preserve. We’re probably better off that such idjets would not be voting.
It’s working
