Alfred E. Neuman was the name of the boy on the Mad magazine covers...I think. I thought he looked a bit like Howdy Doody.

I think the last person Trump stamped with the Alfred E. Neuman branding was Buttigieg. I think it basically means, out-to-lunch, oblivious.
It's sort of fitting for DeSantis, whose campaign message seems to be "I can be as boring as Brandon, will not rock the boat with claims the media is enemy of the people, that the Bush family produced terrible presidents, that United States holds all the cards against China, that other nations are dumping their prisons and nuthouses into the U.S., that elections are being stolen etc." Also, "I will not tweet harshly."
Neuman's motto was: "What, me worry?"
