Well there is a reason for the term "bird brain".

God gave them the ability to fly, and when in trouble they don't.

Plus most do have eyes on the side of their heads giving them a really wide view. I'm a cat lover so I am biased, but the owners should not have let them out in the first place. Still, if the birds and others cannot compete and survive then let Darwin do his trick and let that decide for itself.
