I’ve done a citizen police academy class and one session was all of us trying our hand at handling a traffic stop role play, with various scenarios presented to us. It was quite interesting and VERY illuminating. Things can go south really fast, and it’s very easy to hide guns in a vehicle.
I did “act/react” at the FBI Citizens Academy. You go into a building where they have a video display on the wall with a guy operating things. On each side of him are Sigs connected to air hoses and electronics. When the scenario starts you have to react to it. In my case it was a bank robbery. As soon as you elevate the pistol towards the screen the system knows it and the situation can change. As soon as I pointed the gun up the “robbers” turned towards me. I “shot” one between the eyes. Total luck but the SWAT guys watching loved it.
Overall, most people shot and killed the “good guys”.
At the end of it we got to shoot machine guns. That was fun!
