The coverage is shaping up very much like the run-up to 2016. Back then it was assumed by the dominant media and especially establishment republicans that Trump wasn’t serious about running. Then, when he started scoring well in polls, Trump will never win the nomination. Then, he won the nomination somehow but, No way Trump will beat the Clinton machine in the general.
Winning the most votes in the general election is meaningless if they don’t translate to electoral college votes.
Hillary would have won WI, MI, and PA if the Green Party had supported her.
Also, the Libertarian Party received more Democrat votes than usual in 2016 because it campaigned for Open Borders for job seekers, and the LP Vice President candidate said he would vote for Hillary if he was not on the Libertarian ballot.
In 2020, support for the Green Party and LP collapsed - from 4.35% in 2016 to 1.44% in 2020.
Most of those folks voted for Biden.
The GOP also has a voter time bomb it cannot defuse or finesse - abortion.
DeSantis cannot be elected President if he runs as the "Six Week" time limit guy.
Does anyone know if DeSantis publicly campaigned for a six week abortion time limit before his landslide reelection?
I never heard one word about his abortion plan until he signed it.
The next GOP President needs to win GA, WI, AZ, which Trump lost by a total of 43,000 votes in 2020.
That creates a 270-270 tie, which the Republican will win easily in the House of Reps, because each state only gets ONE vote.
Or, if we can win back one Electoral Vote in Nebraska CD #2, the Republican would win 271-269.
Hahahah, They think they can force the country into a 100% ban on abortion and they want to run a national election on that. It’s just dumb. Not to mention, even if elected with both houses, and 60 Repukes in the Senate that law STILL wouldn’t pass. So this strategy is at best disingenuous and at worst is designed to divide and further destroy the Republic. Ron, do you support a 100% ban on all abortions? If not, are you in favor of murder? Trump never said what you attribute. If you DeSantis supporters couldn't lie, you'd have nothing to say. Now, since DeSantis did sign the 6 week thing in to law, I guess he actually does support abortion, as does the Florida legislature. That means you do as well. Life begins at conception.

It's 2023. NONE of that means ANYTHING any more, because the democrats engage in completely unfettered, unopposed vote fraud. They're also allowing millions of new blue voters in over the southern border, and shipping them to republican districts to cancel out republican votes.

Yep, this is a common theme on Free Republic recently, that passing abortion restrictions which are not a 100% ban on all abortions, means that the legislators and governors involved are really pro abortion.
