A variation of the hot coffee scam. Bad decision then, bad decision now. I expect my food to be HOT when I leave the restaurant, not barely warm. If I have to reheat it when I get home, I might as well just cook it at home in the first place.
Now all you will get are cold nuggets, cold fries and cold burgers.
When is McDonald’s going to learn to serve only cold food and beverages? Mmmmm lukewarm coffee and cold chicken nuggies!
Biggest idiots were the jurors who voted to compensate these grifters.
Irresponsible parenting. Using her kid for a quickie payday.
Do you remember kids like that in your classes when you were growing up?
In 12 years of public school, I never heard of a peanut allergy either.
The McDonald’s hot coffee incident was not a joke like the media tried to make it out to be. A lot of the story was distorted. Here’s a short video about what really happened. The woman had very serious burns on her legs and groin and McDonald’s had been warned repeatedly about the extreme temp of their coffee.
This chicken nugget incident I’m suspicious, but I’m going to withhold judgement since back then me and many others took light of what happened regarding the coffee.
I thought the coffee incident was a scam too as it was made light of in the media, but it wasn’t. I watched this short video several years ago, and it gave light to the actuality of the incident.
I find it hard to believe a Chicken McNugget was served boiling hot. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a truly hot one.
Happy Meal or happy investment?
Agree. That 'mom' injured that child and saw this as a way to throw the dogs off the scent. The jury is stupid. As you stated, there is no way a chicken nugget injured that child.
A friend had the same thing happen to her, only it was take-out soup instead of coffee. Everyone told her to sue, including people who worked in the restaurant (she was a regular there). She declined, saying it was her own fault.
So yes, serious injuries can certainly happen, but that doesn’t mean that all lawsuits like this are necessarily legitimate.
And there’s a big difference between the 2nd degree burns suffered by the McNugget victim and the 3rd degree burns suffered by the coffee lady.
how far a leap is it from filming your child in pain to setting up the situation in the first place..?
That's the first thought that came to my mind after reading about the recording. Hey little girl, I'm sorry about this, but you're about to take one for the team.
Instead of being helped, everybody around them whips out their phones and starts filming, hoping to be the first one to get it on YouTube
This is the dystopian future we all read about as children in science fiction stories.
OMG a jury BELIEVED this injury came from a chicken nugget, RIDICULOUS!!! GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK!!!
I was speaking directly to the posts about the coffee incident. I’m smart enough to be a conservative. And I’m smart enough to know there are frivolous lawsuits which is actually a huge irk for me because I think it’s limited our freedoms in this country and caused business to increase redtape and be overly cautious. As far as this incident, I’m definitely sus as I don’t see how it could happen. If it came right out of the fryer and was put on her leg right away I could see that.
Interesting video thanks.
