Honestly though... why? Is he not conservative enough for MAGA, or was MAGA a personality cult from the start? Who is the natural inheritor of MAGA if not DeSantis if this is an ideological movement and not a personality cult?
Here's what I have seen since 2020: - both Georgia senators are democrat because of Trump. He even had a chance to fix that in 2022, and still lost.
- Pennsylvania elected a f-ing vegetable instead of Trump's choice in the senate. If a different strategy had been pursued, the senate would be in R hands. - Across the House of Representatives, GOP candidates lost where they should have won because Trump led an "election day"-only strategy. If not for ballot harvesting in California, Florida, and New York, the House would have been lost.
"Only Trump" has to overcome all of this. It hates the concept of justifying itself, and here we are.
What dumb arguments. If Trump decided to tank all of the Mitch picks in the general guess what? The Mitch picks would all lose. If Trump chooses to tank a competitor who beat him in the Primary....they’ll lose also. The Repukes went out of their way to try and tank all of Trump’s picks then when they lost they tried to blame Trump. Laughable. MAGA is a movement that is bigger than Trump or his circle, and DeSantis is as MAGA as they come. But within the broader MAGA movement is a peronality cult around Trump, known as "Trumpkins" or "Only Trump" or "Cult 45."
Trump's candidate was a RINO. They should have nominated a real conservative, like Kathy Barnette, but Trump sent his minions out to destroy her.
